FDA Approved Lasers

Not all lasers are created equal and therefore do not produce the same results. Our Lumenis® Splendor X and Lumenis® LightSheer® Desire™ are both FDA Approved, Class 4 medical devices.

Since we began offering laser treatments in 2001, thousands of men, woman and teens have trusted our experience and technology to provide them with this safe and effective permanent hair removal solution. We have also successfully re-treated many clients who came to us after receiving poor results elsewhere, with substandard equipment.

Utilizing the most technologically advanced laser systems from Lumenis®, a pioneer of laser aesthetics, our Certified Laser Technicians provide remarkable results. Lumenis® is trusted by medical professionals worldwide for its quality and effectiveness.

How does Laser work?

Laser hair removal utilizes a concentrated beam of laser energy to target the hair follicles. The energy is absorbed by the pigment in the hair and converted to heat, damaging the follicles. The precise targeting focuses on the hair while minimizing any impact on the surrounding skin, making it a safe and effective method for long-lasting results.

What should I expect on my first visit?

Consultation: During your consultation, you'll meet with an experienced technician who is dual-licensed as a Registered Electrologist and Certified Laser Technician. We will thoroughly analyze your skin tone and hair type, discuss your hair removal goals, and recommend a personalized treatment plan that's safe and effective. We're here to answer any questions and ensure you feel confident and comfortable before starting your hair removal treatments.

What should I expect?

  • The average number of treatments is 3-5 for light skinned, dark haired individuals. For medium to darker skinned clients, those with hormonal issues or those who have recently used temporary methods, the average number of treatments is usually greater than five.
  • Treatments are scheduled at 6-8 week intervals. If needed, you may shave the area between appointments. You must shave prior to your appointment.
  • Laser treatments feel like a mild elastic band snap against the skin. This is the lasers energy targeting the follicle. If needed, topical anesthetic creams are available and may be applied prior to your appointment to numb the area.
  • The most common side effects are redness and mild swelling which can last anywhere from 20 minutes to a few days.
  • Avoid tweezing, waxing, or any type of temporary hair removal two weeks before your first session and between treatments. Remember, we need the hair root attached to treat it.
  • Please avoid glycolic/lactic acid, benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid, retinol products, microdermabrasion, facials, and chemical peels for at least 7 days prior.
  • Please inform your technician about any medications you are taking as some can increase the skin's sensitivity to light. We're unable to perform laser treatments for clients taking light-sensitizing medications such as antibiotics, Z-Pac, or prescription creams within the last 10 days.

How to Prepare for your Laser treatment

  • Shave the area thoroughly and completely just before your appointment. Feel free to bring your razor with you in a plastic bag for any missed spots or stray hairs.
  • For underarm treatments, please refrain from applying antiperspirants prior to your appointment, unless they are aluminum free. They can be applied immediately after.
  • Avoid tanning, self tanners and tanning beds prior you your appointment. Self tanners may be safely removed with Head and Shoulders shampoo.
  • Accutane should not be used within 6 months prior to laser treatments.
  • If you have a history of recurrent cold sores, herpes or shingles in the area being treated, an anti-viral prescription is recommended prior to your appointment.

What should I expect after my laser treatment?

  • After laser treatment, you may temporarily experience slight redness, sensitivity, and inflammation. This varies for each client and each area treated and may last a few days. Best not to direct hot water on the treated area as it may sting, like with a sunburn.
  • Apply a cold compress or an ice pack afterward to help reduce inflammation. We'll offer you a disposable ice pack after treatment for your comfort.
  • Applying aloe vera gel or hydrocortisone cream for the next few days can soothe your skin following laser treatments.
  • Avoid hot tubs and hot showers. For the first days following laser treatments, we recommend tepid water bathing, mild soap, and patting the skin dry, do not rub.
  • In the weeks following, it is normal for the treated hairs to shed post-treatment. They are dead and can take 2-4 weeks to fall out. After the first week or two, gently exfoliate with a washcloth or soft loofah to assist in this process.
  • You may shave between treatments if needed, but you shouldn't shave more than a few times. If so, that means it's time for your next treatment. We recommend waiting until all your regrowth has filled in, shaving once or twice, then returning for your next treatment.
  • There's no accurate number for how many treatments are needed; every client is unique. Each session generally results in a 15%-20% reduction in hair thickness. For example, if you treat an area with 100 hairs, those 100 hairs can regrow approximately 17% thinner, softer, and finer after each treatment until they're gone.
